2026-2027 OCIA Registration

The OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation for Adults) program is for those adults who are: (1) unbaptized and wish to be baptized in the Catholic Church, (2) already baptized in another Christian tradition and wish to become Catholic, and (3) already baptized in the Catholic Church but have not yet received both the sacraments of Holy Communion and Confirmation and wish to do so.

The program begins in September 2026 and will run through March 27, 2027, when the Sacraments of Initiation will be administered at the Easter Vigil Mass at St Paul the Apostle. Weekly sessions are held on most Sunday mornings from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Lower Level (Room 32) and is led by Deacon Bob Birck.  These sessions focus on the teachings and Catechism of the Catholic Church and include prayer, Scripture reflection and faith sharing. Whatever your level of interest or commitment, you are encouraged to come and participate in this program with your own questions, insights and faith story in a welcoming and supportive setting. Spouses, fiancés, sponsors or other mentors are most welcome to join and participate in this journey with you. 

This program is not for those Catholic adults who are only seeking the sacrament of Confirmation.  Please contact Deacon Bob for information about adult Confirmation preparation through Vicariate 1 of the Archdiocese of Chicago.
